Adding, editing, or deleting a Web Content item

You can add a link to an external website, or Web Content item, in the menubar for your class or project worksite if you have the appropriate permissions.

Anyone can add a Web Content item to My Workspace.

Adding a Web Content item to a course or project site's menubar

Note: You must have the appropriate permissions to add a Web Content item to a course or project site.

  1. In the relevant course or project site, click Site Info.

  2. On the Site Info page, click Edit Tools.

  3. Check the box next to Web Content. Click Continue.

  4. On the "Customize Tools" screen, if your worksite already contains Web Content items, they will be listed under "Web Content". You will also see fields where you can enter information for a new item, as follows:


  5. Click Continue. You will see information about the changes you have made to your worksite. Click Finish, or, if you would like to make further changes, click Back. Click Cancel to cancel your changes.

Adding a Web Content item to My Workspace

  1. From My Workspace, click Worksite Setup.

  2. On the Worksite Setup page, you will see all your worksites listed. To add a Web Content item to your My Workspace area, check the box next to My Workspace. To add a Web Content item to one of the sites that you manage, check the box next to the site's name.

  3. Click Revise. On the next page, click Edit Tools.

  4. Check the box next to Web Content. Click Continue.

  5. On the "Customize Tools" screen, if your worksite already contains Web Content items, they will be listed under "Web Content". You will also see fields where you can enter information for a new item, as follows:


  6. Click Continue. You will see information about the changes you have made to your worksite. Click Finish, or, if you would like to make further changes, click Back. Click Cancel to cancel your changes.

  7. You should now see a link in the menubar to the Web Content item with the title you provided.

Editing a Web Content item

To edit an existing item, click its title in the menubar. At the top of the frame, click Options. On the "Customize Web Content" form, make your edits, including changing the URL, frame height, or title. When you are finished, click Update Options.

Deleting a Web Content item

  1. To delete a Web Content item, click My Workspace, then click Worksite Setup.

  2. If you want to remove a Web Content item from a course or project site, place a check in the box next to the name of the worksite. If you want to remove a Web Content item from My Workspace, check the box next to My Workspace.

  3. Click Revise. Then, click Edit Tools.

  4. From the list of tools, uncheck the item you wish to delete, and then click Continue. On the "Customize Tools" screen, review your information, and then click Finish to delete the item.

Alternatively, in the "Customize Tools" screen, you can delete the information in the "Title" and "URL" fields of the item you wish to remove. Click Continue and then Finish.

Note: If your Web Content item still appears in the site's menubar, click Home to refresh the menubar.
